How We Manufacture Coconut Charcoal Briquettes

Sourcing the Shells
Every batch starts with mature, high-density coconut shells from suppliers we already trust. Each load is hand-checked for cleanliness, because shell quality here sets the fixed-carbon level and burn time later on.
⤢Carbonization
Screened shells go into kilns that burn slowly with very little oxygen, turning shell into raw charcoal. Temperature and airflow are watched closely to land around 80% fixed carbon with ash at 2% or below.
⤢Crushing and Sieving
Carbonized shell is ground into powder and run through sieves until particle size is fine and even. This consistency is what lets it bind evenly and press into briquettes of uniform density.
⤢Blending with Natural Binder
Sieved powder is mixed with water and a food-grade natural binder, usually tapioca starch with no synthetic chemicals. This keeps the finished briquette odorless and flavor-neutral for shisha use.
Briquetting / Molding
The blended mixture is compressed under high pressure into cubes, either standard 25×25×25mm or 26×26×26mm, or custom sizes on request. Pressing it dense is what gives each cube a longer, steadier burn.
Drying and Curing
Freshly pressed cubes are dried under controlled conditions until moisture drops below 5%. Curing is what keeps briquettes from cracking apart and sturdy enough for a long shipping journey.
Quality Control and Lab Testing
Before any batch is cleared, we pull samples and test for moisture, ash content, volatile matter, fixed carbon, calorific value and burn duration. Anything below benchmark doesn't move on to packaging.
Packaging
Briquettes that pass QC are sealed into moisture-proof inner bags, then packed into master boxes with either our standard Tropical Charcoal branding or a fully custom OEM design built around your own brand.
Storage and Export
Packed stock is held in a clean, dry warehouse until it ships through Jakarta, Semarang or Surabaya port, and every shipment travels with full export documents and a Certificate of Analysis.
